Solid Glass Inkwell With Glass Lid Octagon Shape- Heavy And Large Sized- Old

Heavy solid cut glass inkwell with square glass lid. The base is octagonal shaped while the top tapers to a square. Each side has a coat of arms or shield shaped cut. The base is completely flat and polished and has lots of shelf wear indicating this is an older piece. The glass has also taken on a slight yellow hue, the lid more so. All edges on the lid are bevel cut. Measures 4" at the base, 2.25" at the top. Top opening diameter is 7/8". Overall height is about 3" without the lid, 4" with the lid on. A beautiful and unique display piece for the inkwell collector.
A few conditions:
The base has several flea bites as well as rough glass around the top opening. There may have been a silver ring at one time that covered this. The lid has several flea bites as well as a 1/4" chip on one corner (see last pic for close up). All of these are on the bottom/underside, so still displays well when the lid is on. All of these conditions seem to be appropriate given its age, but wanted to disclose so buyer isn't surprised.
