Description

Reed & Barton Pewter Inkwell Circa 1929.
The top tips open to reveal the inkwell.  It has  holes for quills. Has a single drawer. Two inserts include ink well and ink well supporter. Is a hallmarked Reed & Barton piece.
The maker's name is within the banner above the American Eagle (cannot decipher it). The eagle resides within an oval. Below the oval in a banner is
the name Reed & Barton
. Beneath this is stamped "
R 74"
.
Beneath the eagle is a torch hallmark and the number
6
. On the bottom of the drawer is the number
8
.
It has a rich dark pewter patina. There are hallmarks are on the bottom and the bottom of drawer.

Base is 3.5" square.
There are 2 minor nicks:  on on the top, right hand corner, the is almost unseen other on the bottom of the base
