    Description

    This is a very scarce little 1880s M&M T Co embossed miniature pumpkinseed whiskey flask that was given away on a steamship line....

    boldly emb on front....Hand blown in mold...hand tooled double ring collar....clear....oval pumpkinseed flask....only 3 1/4"tall...Excellent condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean bottle.  The Merchants & Miners Transportation was established in 1852 in Baltimore to run a passenger & cargo steamship line between Baltimore & Boston originally. In 1876 the company bought out the Baltimore & Savannah Steam Ship Co and expanded their routes to different cities along the eastern seaboard. This scarce little pocket whiskey nipper flask was given away to select passengers on one of the steamships to quiet the nerves and to promote the Transportation Company. This flask was dug from an 1880s outhouse privy pit.....
