Glass Inkwell Mounted on Vintage Automobile w/photo of Eastgate St.Chester Engl.

Description

Up for auction is a fantastic pressed glass vintage automobile with a set on glass inkwell.  The glass auto is about 4 inches long and 1 3/4 inches high and wheel to wheel is 2 inches wide.  The glass inkwell is 2 inches high and 1 1/8 inches square.  The inkwell sets on a recessed area in the automobile and is not permanently attached.  The brass collar has some discoloration typical for its age and the lid and collar close and open without any problem. The glass inkwell does have a nick about 3/8 inches long starting at the upper front right hand corner and descending downward. The wheels are perfectly round with no nicks.   The picture (under glass) is a photograph of the business/shopping district in Chester, England on Eastgate Street.  The printing at the bottom of the photo reads as Eastgate St. Chester 3671. Most likely this is a souvenir sold in the district for travellers and shoppers around the early 1900's. This inkwell will appeal to collectors across a wide spectrum including inkwell collectors, vintage car enthusiasts and collectors of old photos from turn of the century England.  I will ship via USPS priority mail.
