English made hickory shafted Kro-Flite half lined face F-5 Mashie

For sale is a nice condition Kro-Flite F-5 mashie with a half lined face made in Spalding's English plant. The markings on the club head are somewhat different than the American made Kro-Flite half lined face clubs. They are marked Hand Forged and Gold Medal. There are no patent dates on the sole of the club. The biggest difference is the size of the club head. The English made irons have much bigger club heads than their American counterparts. These clubs are very seldom seen in America, because they were made in England. In 15 years of collecting these half faced Kro-Flite I have only seen two of them. This is one of the two.  The shaft appears to be original. The grip is probably a period replacement grip with newer whipping.
The club is 36 1/2 " long and has swing weight of C-3. The club has approximately 35 degrees of loft.
The club head has been cleaned and oiled to prevent further rust. The shaft has been cleaned and oiled with tung oil to prevent the wood from drying out. The grip has been cleaned and has been coated with neatsfoot oil to keep it supple. This club has play potential if the club head was removed from the shaft and repined and a new grip was installed.
