A VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL ANTIQUE INKWELL OR MATCH SAFE IN THE FORM OF A DOBERMAN PINSCHER DOG - THE DOG'S MOUTH OPENS TO REVEAL THE COMPARTMENT - DATING TO C1900. This is a very special and very rare figural inkwell. A superbly modeled doberman pinscher or pinscher dog head. It is mixed metals with a gold wash on the head. The base is 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall by 3 inches wide. It is not marked. There is no insert.
