of the Lord Broughams Cordial Reform Figural Pottery stoneware. Stamped on the bottom in black letters is BOURNE DENBY MADE IN ENGLAND (a portion of this stamp is missing as shown).
Impressed on the front of this pictorial flask is BROUGHAMS * REFORM * CORDIAL THE SECOND MAGNA CHARTA.
Its made from a high quality pottery / stoneware with beautiful details.Now, its probably an older repro from the 1970s as the newer reproductions have authentic reproduction marked on the bottom.
Molded with Lord Brougham
using the original molds from the 1830's. These flasks were originally made to commemorate The Reform Act of 1832 that introduced full democracy to Britain and would have contained spirits.
It was created
to commemorate the second Magna Carta, his head forming the neck of the flask, modelled with his hands held in front of him holding a scroll impressed THE SECOND/MAGNA CHARTA, the upper part of the flask enriched in a dark brown glaze.
Base marking is partially missing (see pics) glaze has a defect inside mouth of bottle that cannot be seen unless the cork is removed.  It is surface only. No cracks that we see or feel.
