Antique Ship In Bottle Primitive Style Union Oval Side Strap Whiskey Flask 1800s

OFFERED ... a unique antique, primitive-style ship in a bottle; circa late 1800's.  The two-mast ship is simple and wonderful, and it fits in the bottle nicely.  Hand-carved hull; ship appears to have remained intact through the years.  Imperfections will be visible in the photographs.  The bottle is, I believe, what's referred to as a Union Oval side strap whiskey flask; it remains in very good antique condition.  There are numerous bubbles in the glass, large and small, and some surface blemishes.  The bottom and neck were applied after the bottle was removed from a two-seam, hand-blown mold.  It measures approximately 7 1/4" in height; 4" in width; 2" in depth (at top shoulders).  Vertical lines are visible and can be felt on exterior surface at base of the applied neck.  The interior is not accessible because of the nature of the stopper which is hand-carved wood with a stylized nautical image of a ship wheel notched on the top.  The lip of the bottle is smooth and tapers downward.  Very nice piece for the bottle and/or ship in bottle collector.  I do a limited amount of research before listing most items.  I welcome any questions or comments as to the accuracy of information in the listing.
