Antique Schafer & Vater German Porcelain Figural-Gent on Barstool-Flask/Decanter.  I did some research on this type of flask/decanter.  They were imported empty from Germany, then filled and given away as gifts by bars, liquor stores, at dances, fairs and by organizations.  Made of fine quality porcelain, a hard porcelain, highly vitrified.  Vitrified ware has been fired high enough to make it very strong, hard and dense.  This decanter/flask is painted on the front with a flat finish.  The back is made to look like wood grain and is glazed.  The bottom of the flask is marked "Made in Germany".  It has The Crown and Round Seal stamped in it.  This mark is a factory mark of Volkstedt-Schutz & V.  used from 1890 and up.  I didn't find any chips, cracks or repairs.  Behind the right arm is some scratch marks and the cork on the original stopper is missing a piece of it.  It still seals and stays in place.  I have taken pictures of the scratches and the cork.  The maker marks on the bottom of the flask/decanter are hard to see but are there along with some numbers stamped which are also hard to see.  Stands 6 7/8" tall and 1 5/8" deep.
