Antique French Pump Inkwell with pen rack
Top part of lid reads "ENCRIER POMPE Ate BOCQUET PROPRIETE MOUVEMENT SPHERIQUE"
The lid has an attached weight so that when you twist the top of the lid the weight will be raised or lowered, causing the ink level to rise. There are two notches in the lid that must be aligned in order to take the lid off or put the lid on.
The small ink dipping location should have a lid attached but it is not present. You can see the nearby hole where the lid would have attached via a short chain.
Attached is a pen rack so you can store your pens neatly on your inkwell.
This measures approximately 5.25" in diameter with an overall width of approximately 6" with the pen rack. Approximately 5" overall height, with a height of 1.5" to the rim.
There are various hairlines in this piece as well as other blemishes consistent with age. Please view all photos as they are in important part of the item description.
The pen rack does wiggle a slight bit and I am unsure if the present position is original or if the placement in the inkwell has been repaired at some point in time.
