.
Condition
: Ink well is in EXCELLENT CLEAN condition. The top was broken off of the glass blower's blow pipe, part of the assembly line mass production technique employed in early glass making. In other words, though the top looks a little rugged, this is how it left the factory to be filled with ink and presented to the consumer. It has NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc.
Age
: An early hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled top, ca.
late
1800's

domestic shipping. We do NOT insure International orders unless buyer specifically requests this and we are able to provide an insurance estimate. If an international shipping charge is much more than the actual shipping cost, we will refund the excess so what YOU pay for shipping/insurance is very close to, if not exactly, the ACTUAL shipping costs! This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates. We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
A super nice example of an early Ink Well. Embossed hand blown ink wells are NOT common, and
unlike 99% of all other ink wells, this one is FULLY EMBOSSED, in five panels, right down the front of it! Most all ink wells just have embossing on the base and never (or very rarely) on the side. Yet here it is and why we purchased it originally, a rare embossed ink well. Not only is this embossed down the front, it is an early bottle as well, possibly 1880's, as most of the ink wells you see are the newer clear (NOT aqua) glass ink wells. And ... the color, a
