Offering one,
vintage, M. I. Hummel figure titled “Surprise”.
(This figurine has also been called “Hansel and Gretel”, “The Duet” and “What’s up?”).
Impressed M. I. Hummel signature on base, and number 3/0 on bottom.
Full bee trademark #2. With (R)  Circa 1950-1955. Marked “Germany.”
Boy has green/gray jacket and brown lederhosen.
Condition:
Excellent condition – no chips, cracks or crazing.
The tips of the little girl’s hair are very light, almost white, they are not chipped. See photos. There is also a white mark on the back of her skirt, which does not appear to be any damage or anything on top of the glaze.
My grandmother was a Hummel collector since the 1940’s and started disbursing her collection when relatives admired them or for various occasions. Found this piece and a couple of others packed away when my dad had to downsize.
