on paper in his hands....the back has the pottery maker's mark which is filled in with glaze so I can only make out the last 3 words....

but one of the words before begins with
HA...
It has 2 more words above arched with a 5 pointed X in middle. ...Brown glazed pottery bottle....6 3/4"tall....oval...Excellent condition with only a couple small shallow chips on side of lip. One appears to be glazed over. No other damage. A nice clean bottle made around the time of the 1832 Reform Act in England.
Reform flasks became quite popular in the 1830s and 1840s - to hold liquor and at the same time to celebrate The Reform Act of 1832 (which gave more power to the people), and Lord Russell was one of the major proponents of the Act. I found listings of other Lord John Russell bottles, but could not find this particular bottle or pottery listed
