This is a fairly hard to find early 1830s original Franklin Frigate T.W.D. Eagle historical flask...the McKearin number is GII-42. The front has a large bold emb eagle with a Union shield & holding arrows. He is perched on an oval with the initialsT.W.D.
boldly embossed.... This is for Thomas W. Dyott the owner of the Kensington Glass Works, the Philadelphia glass house that made this bottle in the 1830s. The reverse depicts the sailing ship USS Franklin and has

emb underneath. ..Open Pontil....crude smooth sheared lip.....aqua....ribbed sides are plain....pint size...6 1/2"tall....Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. It has high point wear. Some faint inside content haze in a couple spots, but not bad....This is a great looking early flask with bold embossing!....The U.S.S.Franklin depicted on this historical flask was built in 1815 and was the first U.S.Navy ship launched from the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
