Description
This is a scarce early 1820s original Double Cornucopia 1/2 pint historical whiskey flask grouped as GIII-2 by McKearin. The flask was blown at the Kensington Glass Works in Philadelphia in the 1820s or early 1830s.....it has bold emb cornucopia with fruit on front and back......Open Pontil...crude in rolled lip....aqua....ribbed sides....half pint....5 5/8"tall....Excellent condition with only one small shallow 1/8"flake on edge of back panel; no other damage. A bit of faint inside content haze. Bold crisp embossing...this is a hard to find flask!Most early Cornucopia flasks have either an urn of flowers or an eagle on back....this one has an identical Cornucopia on both front and back!
