Description

This is a beautiful antique, aqua blue bottle, molded with an applied lip.  Part of the original cork is stuck at the bottom of the flask.  From my research, it could be whiskey flask which I believe is classified as a Union Oval type flask typical from the Civil War era into the early 1900s.  An eBayer believes it is an Amonia bottle from the 1910s.  This vintage bottle does not have embossing. My father, an avid bottle digger, found the bottle more than 40 years ago in the ruins of an old plantation in Virginia.  The bottle has air bubbles and striations showing its age.  It is in great shape, free from breaks or cracks.  There is a small rough spot which doesn't go thru the glass.  The aqua color is nice; clarity is decent with some calcification - mineral deposits from long term exposure.   The narrow neck causes any liquid to drain slowly.  It measures about 9" x 3.25" x 1.55".
